Conservatives for Republican Reform

Mission

Conservatives for Republican Reform (CFRR) is a 527 non-profit political advocacy campaign dedicated to the effort of supporting conservatism in American politics through the Republican Party. Disillusioned by the repeated offering of RINO (Republican in Name Only) candidates for state and national office, we are committed to holding the Republican Party to the conservative principles valued by the members that make up the base of the Party. We are committed to promoting processes and policies within the Republican Party that favor candidates based on the alignment of their principles with the Party platform, rather than on political expediency. CFRR will lobby the Republican Party to fix a broken primary system that gives liberal independent and Democrat voters too much influence over the selection of Republican candidates.

The day that construction begain on this web-site; Arlen Specter announced his defection from the Republican Party to the Democrat Party. The spectacle of the 2009 Pennsylvania Republican primary has brought shame on the GOP. The GOP declared its support for the moderate Specter instead of conservative Pat Toomey on the sole basis of perceived electability. When it became clear that Toomey would beat Specter by at least 20 points in the primary Specter defected from the party that supported him to increase his chances of victory in the party that best reflects his ideology.

The Toomey/Specter incident is just one example of the Republican Party abandoning capable, principled conservatives in the hopes of winning an election with a candidate that does not reflect the values in the GOP platform. CFRR will work to encourage the GOP to support candidates like Pat Toomey against undeserving incumbents like Arlen Specter. We believe that the conservative principles that our nation was founded on are compelling and provide a solid foundation from which to win elections.

CFRR is committed to the idea that the revitalization of the GOP is the best way to inject true conservatism back into the American political process. We encourage those that are considering supporting a third party to return with us to the Republican Party and to bring their conservatism with them. We believe that third party efforts divide conservatives into ineffective fragments and that the time investment required for creating a viable third party is greater than the time available to revive conservatism in American politics. While we look forward with a bright hope and the conviction that conservatism and the Republican Party can be revitalized, we acknowledge that time is not on our side. We must act quickly, decisively and with concerted focus.

Your support is vital to our combined success. Thank you for your time and consideration.
